Biography of Bastien Auber

Since 2011, he has taught Contact Improvisation at workshops, masterclasses, and regular festivals in France and many other countries. He trained in dance by traveling and working with several teachers of Contact Improvisation, Instant Composition, and somatic techniques.

For the past few years, teaching Contact Improvisation has been his primary activity.

He is also a geologist, geobiologist, and occasional dance performer. He practices meditation, contemplative dance, and authentic movement, and places great importance on the poetry and the invisible aspects of dance.

For 14 years, he co-organized the "1001 Festival" in Grenoble and is excited about this new adventure as a co-organizer of the "SPHERES" International Contact Improvisation Festival :-)

Depuis 2011, il enseigne le Contact Improvisation lors de stages, masterclasses et festivals réguliers en France,

et dans de nombreux autre pays. Il s'est formé à la danse en voyageant et en travaillant avec de nombreux professeur·es de CI, de composition instantanée et de techniques somatiques.

Depuis quelques années, l'enseignement du CI est sa principale activité.

Il est également géologue, géobiologue et parfois interprète de danse. Il pratique la méditation, la danse contemplative et le mouvement authentique, et accorde une grande importance à la poésie et à l'invisible dans la danse.

Il a co-organisé pendant 14 années le "1001 festival" de Grenoble et se réjouis de cette nouvelle aventure de co-organisateurices du Festival international de CI "SPHERES".

Biography of Giovanna Parpagiola

Originally from Venice, Giovanna lives in Lyon, where she is active in the Helix association as an organiser and teacher.

She explores different movement paths (CI, Bartenieff, release, axis syllabus), she wrote in Italy à thesis on the philosophical, political and sensory impact of contact improvisation.

Giovanna also loves poetry (Dirada company), creates dance performance for young audiences and she develops avec Tramaluna groups dance sessions. She is inspired by the notions of softness and fluidity in dance (and elsewhere).

Originaire de Venise, Giovanna vit à Lyon et ici est active dans l'association Helix comme organisatrice et enseignante.

Elle approfondit différents chemins du mouvement ( CI, Bartenieff, release, axis syllabus) et a écrit en Italie une thèse autour de l'impact philosophique, politique, sensoriel du contact impro.

Giovanna aime aussi la poésie ( compagnie Dirada), construit des pièces pour le jeune public et des bals chorégraphiques (Compagnie Tramaluna). Elle est habitée par les notions de douceur et fluidité dans la danse (et ailleurs).

Biography of Valentin Jaggi

A wood artisan and carpenter, Valentin discovered the practice of contact improvisation in 2014 while studying social anthropology.
Since then, he has been sampling dance at every opportunity and is currently involved in the opening of a weekly practice space in the Berry region, where he lives.
Jewelry-making, flint knapping and green wood carving, building cabins, furniture making, crafting biodynamic wine, and

soon the production of kiwis and flavorful fruits form his current fields of contribution,

also offering occasional opportunities for sharing knowledge with younger generations.
It is with great joy, intertwined with challenge,

that he humbly takes part in the creation of the Sphères Festival 2026, and looks forward to meeting you there.

Artisan du bois et menuisier, Valentin découvre la pratique du contact improvisation

durant ses études d’anthropologie sociale en 2014.
Depuis lors, il picore la danse à chaque occasion et participe actuellement à l’ouverture d’un

espace de pratique hebdomadaire dans le Berry, où il réside.
La bijouterie, la taille du silex et du bois vert, la fabrication de cabanes, l’ameublement,

l’élaboration de vin biodynamique, et bientôt la production de kiwis et de fruits goûteux constituent ses terrains de contribution actuels, offrant également des occasions de transmission ponctuelle

auprès des plus jeunes.
C’est avec un grand bonheur, mêlé de défi, qu’il participe modestement à l’élaboration du Sphères Festival 2026,

et se réjouit de vous y retrouver !
